Oaty Biscuits

Oaty Biscuits C

You’ll probably recognise these, if you don’t then give it time (but don’t stress yourself). Either way, they are lush! Crunchy, oaty, chocolatey, tasty! I’ve used dark chocolate which works really well but if you’re making for kids I’d swap it for milk chocolate – 10 year old me wouldn’t have gone near dark chocolate ones! Another tip is to store them in the fridge (in an air-tight container) as the chocolate takes that bit longer to melt on the tongue mmm…

Autumn Leaves

Autumn Leaves A

During autumn I love crunching leaves underfoot, so I thought why not make some autumn leaves to crunch on indoors. A cute little twist on gingerbread, these are easy to make and their miniature size will fill any biscuit tin just like leaves in a park.

Chocolate & Hazelnut Rings

Chocolate & Hazelnut Rings B

Rings of kings! I don’t know why I call them that but it’s what they are to me. Rich chocolate, crunchy hazelnuts: a royal match indeed! And if you want to be even more regal, why not drizzle them with chocolate too…

Argan Oil Crackers

Argan Oil Crackers A

My first taste of argan oil was at school; my food tech teacher gave me some to try and I fell in love with it.  A few years later, I bumped into (well in the twittersphere) Dana, founder of Arganic, a company which sells organic argan oil in the UK. I was reunited with the golden oil and made these crackers to parade the unique and beautiful flavour of argan oil. I like to think of argan oil as a spicy version olive oil, just as versatile and incredibly good for you! Click here for the recipe

Linzer Biscuits

Linzer Biscuits A

These unsuspecting biscuits are based on the Austrian Linzertorte, made with almond pastry and filled with raspberry compote. The surprise is that despite the sprinkling of icing sugar they look like plain old biscuits but the crumbly pastry, spiced with cinnamon, hides a sweet raspberry filling! Click here for the recipe

Cranberry, Orange and Almond Shortbread

Cranberry, Orange and Almond Shortbread B

Here’s a recipe to get autumn started. Studded with sweet, dried cranberries, scented with fresh orange zest and embellished with sugar-coated chopped almonds. These are my favourite shortbread biscuits I’ve made to date! They’re a bit fiddly to get looking perfect, so be sure to chill the dough well otherwise the cranberries and almonds will be problematic when slicing the biscuits.

Spiral Biscuits

Spiral Biscuits A

These exciting biscuits are a doddle to make – exactly my kind of recipe, simple to do yet really impressive. I took them into work and many of my colleagues remarked how ‘cool’ they looked (yes, they said cool ;] ) and indeed how scrumptious they found them. Give them a go and treat your friends and family!
